Headline:  Frogs Win First Division Championship in 37 Years!

37 years in the making. Yesterday, the Frogs won their first division championship in 37 years, defeating Oconomowoc 9-6. Cory Park was packed and Dousman really showed up, which the players were excited to see.

The Frogs bats came out hot scoring all 9 runs in the first 4 innings. The first inning, Dylan and Cooper Pease led the game off with singles. Foster Engelhardt followed with an RBI single and a Nick Brazelton sac fly scored the first 2. The second inning, Andrew Hoppe started with an infield single, and Elijah Shevey followed with a single. An errant throw allowed Hoppe to score from first and Shevey advanced to third. D Pease singled Shevey home to make the score 4-0. The Five 0's countered with 3 runs in the third inning. The bottom of the third, Nick Brazelton, Carter Raabe, and Marc Jones all singled to start the inning. Shevey came up again with the bases loaded and scored 2 more on a clutch single to make the score 7-3. The bottom of the 4th, Dousman loaded the bases on a C Pease walk, Donovan Brandl HBP, and Brazelton HBP. Raabe came up with a 2 RBI single to make the score 9-3. Oconomowoc countered with 2 runs in the 5th inning. The Five 0's final big threat came in the 7th when a lead off single and HBP started the inning. Matt Brissette entered the game on the mound and got a pop out and a double play to end the inning.

Andrew Muffler started on the mound going 6 strong innings working around some shaky defense giving up 5 runs (2 ER). Matt Brissette recorded the save giving 1 unearned run in 3 innings. D Pease, Brandl, Raabe, and Shevey led the team with 2 hits.

With the division clinching win, the Frogs receive a double bye in the Land O' Lakes playoffs. We will travel to West Bend next Sunday for an exhibition at noon as a final tune up before playoff games start.

Mark your calendar. 2 Sundays from now, August 3rd, we will host a TBD divisional opponent at Cory Park for a chance to make it to Grand Championship weekend. The game will take place at noon.
